new topics not showing up on Home Page

The first few times I posted a new topic, they showed up on the "new" list on the home page. Now the last couple have not and I feel rejected and unpopular. WP glitch or ???

Some forums, such as the Adult section and WP Discussion section, will not show up there. So topics posted there won't show up.

The ones I am referring to (besides this one) are "Random Discussion" posts.
The part that bothers me the most is that, since I don't post any new topics unless I feel they are important, I didn't do a "test" one. It seems that if a topic doesn't get any quick responses, it will just die, and then I take it personally.
