I thought daylight savings time would last forever. It ended November 4th, but it was still annoying. Why don't we all just go by local mean time which is derived by the sun's motion in the Greenwich reference frame? In fact, why not metric time with a different definition of a second so that there are 100,000 seconds in a sidereal day and not 84,600 seconds in a standard day?
