I often ask questions of my husband, if he is on the computer I ask what are you doing, if he has to go somewhere I ask about it, etc....Well my husband has told me that it get really annoying to him. I don't feel I'm that bad. Because to me asking all the questions is my way of showing that I am interested in what he is doing. He does not tell me about things, so I feel I always have to ask because he does not volunteer information.

Do you you guys ever become like over bearring with someone always in their face, asking questionsthe way I do? Should I back off? What will happen if I do?

My husband says that MOST guys do not like this when girls do this....

Your husband makes a fair enough point. You might wanna try and back off.

People say that I ask a lot of questions, that I'm very thorough. I must be doing it the right way though because they don't seem to perceive it as a bad thing (most of the time at least). The main reason I do it is because my thinking is very literal (and also very visual) - I find I need to ask a lot of questions and do a lot of clarifying all the time to make sure I'm on the right track, that I'm understanding things correctly. Especially if something is vague - my mind doesn't automatically fill in the blanks or read between the lines like NTs seem to do, I need to have every detail explicitly spelled out.

Hi Dej! It *can* seem like interrogation.

Here's a thought. Sit and have a talk with him. Tell him some of what you said here. You're interested in him and what he's doing! You like talking with him, and even need to do that. Try to understand your need, and try to help him understand his. Maybe you can occasionally take some time in the evenings and just sit and chat together.

Does that make sense?

That's no problem. People like us are inquisitive.

I've actually been on both sides. People have accused me of this, or I sensed myself that I was doing this, but at the same time, I also feel like people have been intrusive with me, and I didn't like it. So of course, now I'm trying to make sure that I don't get that way.

My dad hates it when mum does that, but he has AS.

I also hate it when people do it to me.

I don't see any reason to not be interested or back off though, I mean what you're saying isn't crossing any lines or anything.

Happens w/me, too. I ask questions A LOT. Can't assume I'll "get it" unless it refers to a pre-existing shared meaning (between myself & other). Need things "spelled out" for me, or repeated & re-explained. Seems different than the times when I'm being questioned, in certain ways about things, by other person exhibiting misinterpretation of me. Get defensive & harsh/"sharp" verbally.

I guess some people are just different.
