"Capital punishment", as in the legally delegated murder of a person.I will never impose the obligation on another to perform such an act.
If you were to meet myself and my niece, say, walking down the street, and you attacked her, I would kill you.Actually, I'd try rather hard to prevent it going that far, but if that was necessary, I would do it. I take full responsibility for all my actions.
The permanent incarceration of some offenders is as far as I can go. However, should they volunteer to undergo medical treatments that might result in their deaths I think I could live with that.(Provided they could be shown to be of sufficiently sound mind to understand what is being done.)
I think that this is the very best reaction to the issue that i've read in ages. It IS the issue of asking someone to kill someone else which is the most horrible. Unacceptable. ( equally horrific is the idea of delegating someone to perform experiments on another.)
And even questions of possible miscarriages of justice, and exactly who could be said to understand questions of right and wrong etc are in the end beside the point, which is just aswell considering how problematic those two issues are!!
So me too i vote "no capital punishment under any circumstances".
