Hearing / eye test at school tomorrow

I have been having trouble seeing things correctly. sometimes the edges of objestcs are blurry, and in the classroom no matter where I am I can't read the board. I was checked about two years ago when the problems arose, but now the've gotten worse. tomorrow is a school hearing/eye test. and my resource teacher is makign me go. I'm scared that they will say my seeing is fine like last time, when I know it's not!

I think that schools sometimes just hire unemployed rodeo clowns to do their testing. If you know you are having trouble, and they say you are not, you may need to seek a 2nd opinion so that you can get the issue addressed. Good luck, and let us know how it goes.

My Mom has an appopintment already lined up. I meant the professional people didn't find anything. what if NOBODY does? the otherday i was looking at my textbook which is mainly read, and the red all turned balc, and my vision got blurred. I'm scared.

That sounds like it might be your brain instead of your eyes, and if nobody finds anything wrong with your eyes, you may be troubleshooting in the wrong place. There's a name for the condition where letters and words do weird things when you read, but I can never remember it.

Dyslexia? i'm pretty certain it insn't dyslexia. the words aren't jumbling or anything.

No, It's not dyslexia, it's something else that can be helped (if you hve it) with color tinted glases that don't bend light in any way, but can be made in a form that bends light if you have an additonal vision problem.

BeeBee posted a link on the home page to the Wiki article about synthesia. That's when you look at letters or numbers and see colours. Or in my case, when I see/feel/taste certain sounds.

The bit with the coloured glasses is about correcting cases where the letters appear to be moving or changing in intensity or texture as you read. It's called Irlen.
