I'm Aesteros, Linkerator, Adrian, whatever you wish.

First off, a bit about myself:

I'm weird, I often find myself feeding my obsessions of politics, technology, and music, and once in a while a scosche of sciences. My fashion sense is strange, and I look like a 70's LSD-addict (though I am sure I am not one, but I'm sure others think I am). I think outside the box more than often of the time, but I don't think I have the time or the willingness to list my views on stuff.

Anyhow, I have come here out of my curiosity of Asperger's Syndrome, and the possibility that I may have it. I help out the students at the Life Skills classroom, and the teacher let me use the class's old PPC Mac so I could run Linux on it (Linux geek, I know). The teacher found my fascination of computers and the such interesting, plus my AS-like traits such as hand flapping or my compulsions of cracking my fingers, or at least bending the fingers as if I were trying to crack them.

I seem to have a few problems with "reading between the lines", usually taking in the smaller and more literal details instead of the statement that is to be implied, usually finding out what the statement means later after hearing or reading it. I do seem to rather dislike some things being new, such as somebody on the street asking me a question while I walk the wonderful, and stereotypically rainy, streets of downtown Seattle, these confrontations make me rather nervous, but I just ease myself internally then get myself through it.

I probably do have a few other oddities and quirks in me that I don't notice because I've been living with them for 15 years of my life. :P

So, I say "Greetings", "Happy New Years", and whatever, your turn to talk back.

I knew you were from Seattle before I got to that paragraph. I'm not sure what it was that tripped my Seattleite radar, but there you have it. So you're in high school? Are you saying that your teacher pointed out the possibility that you may have AS?

Welcome to WP!

I think us Seattlites keep ourselves entertained with our own quaint occupations, such as obsessive coffee drinking, OCD, or uncontrollable political interest, UPI, or the usual technological-obsession, like how I locked myself in a garage to take dismantle typewriters or build some strange portable-Christmas-lights powered by a 9-volt battery when I was around 5-6.

And yes, the Life Skills teacher pointed out how I seem to mimic some of the symptoms of AS soon after I started volunteering for her, and she is very knowledgeable with Autism. She seems to be surprised how I easily understand an can relate to the students there.
