Is anyone else here obsessed with flight simulation?? I have always wanted to be a pilot, but lack the $$ to do it in real life. So now I am spending much of my free time flying from virtual airport to virtual airport. I have even applied for a job with a virtual airline. Any other sim piolts here????

I used to plane some games along those lines, level flight just gets so boring after a while.

I think it's more about me having an alternate life as a pilot really

I've never tried it, but I think it would be a lot of fun! I've always wanted to be able to fly! :D

I've only played MS Flight Sim (as in the original DOS one) and MS Flight Sim 98. Never got into them.

I'm more into the hardcore race sims such as Live for Speed.

I think it ended up costing my brother around $5000 to get his first class solo license. But because of the $$$ involved, he stopped doing it. I think he needs 30 more hours to be able to fly others around (another $3000) so he too is a Virtual Pilot.

That said, I suppose if you are really yearning to be a pilot in reality, you do need to sacrifice alot to get there, like any worthwhile dream.

I used to play Red Baron "back in the day". I still have the game and joystick, but they're both outdated now.

I love playing the RAF Battle of Britain Campaign in CFS and the US campaign in CFS2. My favorite mod for CFS2 is the In Defense of Australia mod. That rocks! The RAAF 75 Squadron must have clanked when they walked from the big brass balls they carried! By the time I'm done making all of my mods in the game, it's almost a whole new game, but greatly improved. I probably would have made a great figher ace. :(
