Hello there, I am Jules. I am the mother of a beautiful 8 year old girl who has recently been diagnosed with PDD/NOS. I understand from her doctors that this is somewhat of a temporary diagnosis until more time is spent with her to diagnose her further. I have done a lot of reading on the subject and have been to discussions with Temple Grandin. I just found this site this week and want to say WOW, what a great place. I look forward to meeting some interesting new people. Thanks for reading...Have a great day :D

Nice to meet you. I have 2 sons, Dylan who was diagnosed with Autism (technically HFA) who will be 4 in February and Brendon who is 18 months and is only thought to be a quirky, advanced NT. I am a self-diagnosed Aspie and hoping to have an official diagnosis in the near future. :) Welcome aboard. :)

Sorry Mish but this just cracks me up!! ! so many with an official diagnosis hates it. Wishing it away, because of the bad side effects.

Good luck keep your fingers crossed, but if you are an aspie it is probably something u do and enjoy anyway!! !

LOL

Ok Asman, I fail to see your humor in this but that doesn't surprise me anyways, I am seeking an official diagnosis to help my parents understand me better as well as my partner and to resolve what was 30 yrs of confusion in my life, I'd rather have an answer than to sit here wondering if people are just going to think I'm a hypochondriac the rest of my life, thanks, I've already had one psychiatrist hint to that in this lifetime, don't want it anymore and one of the top autism experts thinks it's likely I won't walk out of the official assessment she is helping get set up without resolution and an official dx.

Thanks everyone who welcomed me, I look forward to getting to know everyone better. It is nice to finally meet some people who understand what we go through on a daily basis. Some days are better than others, but most leave me wanting to hide in a corner.
