Anonymous Destruction topic

Thank you, TheFace, for supplying a copy of this video. I had to play it a few times because of my auditory processing challenge, but yes it sends a clear message to the cult of the sins followers. the scientologists. I hope it makes them squirm in their so-called science, and shake out their souls. Yes, this is a great 'outing' in the Twilight Zone! :D

They should make more videos. Computer Science students the world over will get involved. Nothing better to do.

I once came across a podcast series that sounded like that (or even more machine-like). I think it is to maintain anonymity, and to sound ominous.

There's no need to attack Scientology, common sense does a good enough job of that already.

"Common sense" isn't as common as you might be led to believe.

Like I posted in the other thread, I find this extremely fascinating. I'm not impressed with the chaotic neutrality of "Anonymous" but I am impressed with this project. I'd love to link to their wiki here but it has adult content on it. It's currently the third result if you google "project chanology".

What do you guys think of the illegal tactics suggested in the wiki? Acceptable under these circumstances? Any circumstances? I'm a bit of a fence-sitter. I would probably be open to using these tactics if I thought the cause was clearly worthy and I didn't have a family.

The cause is sound, but the methods aren't. If it was legal to me to be able to, I would use molotov cocktails. But it isn't. And the thing is, as with any revolutionary group, there are some who join just to cause chaos, those who just want to see the world burn. Anonymous may be legion, but it doesn't mean they share the same ideals.

Anyway, the Scientologists existed before the internet. Trashing their sites may hurt them, but it ain't gonna stop them. Especially when, not only do they have so many stars under their umbrella, but America has this sort of star fetishdom. Not to mention the fact that the Scientologists can hide behind the First Amendment.

FGS, one of the most powerful people here in Australia, James Packer, is a Scientologist. For all you Americans and British here, if you don't know who that is, his father was Kerry Packer, a media mogul virtually on the level of the Aussie expat, Rupert Murdoch. James Packer owns Channel Nine, amongst other media channels, and he also owns gambling facilities throughout Australia. Now, if THAT ain't scary, I dunno what is....

<< it depends on how good they are at hacking, if they were good enough to hack into the church of Scientology's financial accounts for example..
