Dr Gene Scott. Anyone who's ever watched C-band satellite in their life has at one time or another run across this guy while channel surfing.

For me that day was March 18, 1996. I was surfing through satellites that evening on the east end of satellite band, looking for anything interesting to watch. That same evening I stumbled across Classic Sports Network (the pre-runner to EPSN classic) aring college basketball - NC state vs. Pepperdine from 1983, and, "The University Network"

Here was this televangelist on TV smoking a pipe, sitting by himself in a chair yelling up a storm at the TV camera over the fact that people were not sending in enough money. I was taken in by this guy, more out of amusment than anything else. When he got done he told people to "get on the phones". They then cut to video of him riding bike with three goregous ladies played over a bed of music.

I would turn to this guy when ever I was bored and needed some entertainment. Since I moved to ohskosh I had to leave him behind.

I found out he died of a stroke last february.

Watch the clip, you'll see what I mean by entertaining.

Being raised in a conservative Christian background, I could find him ammusing, but it's sad and pathetic that there were people who would actually believe that he was a legitimate pastor.

Scoots,

That is just f---ing brilliant! The only televangelist that came close to him was Dr. Robert Tilton. Je$u$ $ave$ indeed.

The horrific thing though is that as Sean said, people actually sent him money.
