I've been lurking for over a year now, but as of a few days ago...

wrongplanet gives me a "forbidden 403" error when I use lynx - both in and out of the forum

would be nice if that was fixed...

Very good point. I get the same, even when aiming at exactly the full page addresses that show in this browser (SeaMonkey).

I would hope Alex can figure out what's going wrong from his access logs. It might help if you could pin down the timing for when it started going wrong.

(Out of interest, I just tried Lynx with my phpBB3, and there's no problem... but that's hardly surprising.)

(Also, out of interest, I just did a plain "wget http://www.wrongplanet.net" and that happily fetched "index.html" for me.)

The logs should show when 403 errors occured, that might be a clue as to when it started.

I'd guess server config, since it affects all the pages.

Mozilla or Konqueror are a bit big for the old clunker I normally use, and wget isn't very practical for surfing.

Until it is fixed, try dillo! It is rather lean (runs on my craptop with 40MB RAM), has no clue what CSS or JavaScript is and doesn't fail too much when displaying this forum.
