It's a YEC site formerly AiG-Australia before Ken Ham tried to pull a few stunts. I prefer CMI to AiG because CMI has more credible scientists and does actual research. The Journal they publish even impresses my step-dad who is fairly skeptical about everything.

parakeet it sounds to me like you want this dream to be a associated with your religious views. its not, its a physical condition called sleep paralysis. and has nothing to do with satan or jesus

I wouldn't know. This thread is about people having a dream like that during inner sleep and not when they're partially awake or whatnot.

Ok, OK! You are convinced that it is not when you are partially awake. Let's accept the possibility that it is a dream.

In dreams, unreal things appear very real. The content and interpretation of dreams are influenced by our belief structures. If a person is obsessed with model trains, I wouldn't be surprised if they dreamed about trains. Even if they had no interest in something, it might appear in their dreams, which are a kaleidescope of the mind.

The only recurring dream I had involved my grandmother's house, and a variety of dead people walking around, and spirits. Is the most likely explanation based on the fact that her house was very old, and that she died when I was a kid, and that I was upset about this and trying to make sense of life? Or is it proof that ghosts walk the earth?

I agree with it, and it makes sense, that any belief system or something you think about all the time, any obsession, fear and desire, make poeple have certain dreams. And there are always people who share those dreams.

As an example I have had dreams about my teeth fallling out several times, and I read that a lot of other people have that same dream, and it has its reasons most of the times, a psychological interpretation, of course.

Another interesting thing is that I have had dreams many times about having telekinesis, which of course, it is something that I was fascinated when I was a kid by watching stuff like that on TV, but I never actually believed in it, always considered as pure fantasy but thougth about how cool it would have been, have had these dreams recently as an adult sometimes, but not that much lately.


There are psychiatric explanations about things like that, I read that if you are awake and you see the "ghost" of a loved one who have just died, the great shock and psychological impact can cause hallucinations like that.

This one time when I was 19 I had a real bad episode of sleep paralysis. I was having a dream of baseball playing with ghosts in black capes and to my chagrin this pitcher was coming to me on first and when he approached me he was an alien and he put his hands on my chest and I could feel it on my chest as I lay sleeping, and then I awoke, I couldn't move and I was being held down by some "unknown" force. It was super-creeps. I got up finally after a minute and turned on a light and played some music and lulled myself back to sleep. I about s**t my pantz; but that's sleep paralysis for ya.

I didn't pray to Jesus though; I think I said "mommy"!

When I have a panic attack at night (night terror) I get this thing that it seems to be some sort of out of body experience, which it is unpleasant.

I've often had dreams of jumping and continuing to be airborne after I should have hit earth, traveling horizontally and not vertically though. Similar to telekinesis since I could land when I wanted to and not when gravity dictates.

Latest dreams I had that were always related to telekinesis were about making myself fly, not so high, just near 2 meters (~6 feet) no more than that, probably because I don't like heights.

Sleep paralysis is up there with toncilitius for me as far as the fear factor goes. I couldn't even open my eyes when it happened to me. It probably lasted for less than a minute but being in that state felt like an eternity. I thought I was dying when it happened.
When I was a toddler and my mom made the mistake of taking me to see ET was when I was afraid of aliens. Somes kids fell in love with ET I was terrifyed of him and thought every unnatural light I was saw in my bedroom was ET coming back to his exact his revenge on me. I used to pray to God alot in that room.

I do suffer from a lot of nightmares. I feel at times that I REM more than the average person. I don't take aspirin so when I get bad headaches I just make myself fall asleep. Maybe the body reacts negatively to excessive sleep. It's hard to find information on the topic.

I had a dream about Alien before I saw the movie. That was when I lived in the Irving Cedars, which was a very creepy place.
