what are your views on donating to a sperm bank
(please tell me what denomination you are, i know its not important in the grand scheme of things but for now it is kind of important)

Donating to a sperm bank is like giving an infant up for adoption.
It is a selfless thing to do.

I, as a Roman Catholic, voted no.

Non-denominational Christian with views that God is sovereign (Calvinism) and I lean toward historical revelation (mostly YEC). My answer on the poll was "yes"; I hope it's "no" though but I cannot overcome the possibility of it being otherwise so I voted "yes."

Sperm are alive and carry human DNA. Although one only become human fully when one bonds to the egg, that is their destiny at a sperm bank if selected. If the personal DNA of the donor were to be replaced by the husband's, then it would be less of a problem. If the DNA of the sperm is not that of the husband then it may be considered a mild form of adultery. I don't know, but these are my thoughts.

Then replace the DNA in the sperm with the husband's DNA so the child will be genetically his as well as the wife's.

If something was wrong it wouldn't matter how anyone feels about it, it would stay wrong.

The only wrong and dangerous thing I see in a situation lke this is how the child could be seen and treated or the family because of disproving how (s)he was conceived.

Something to consider is that the sperm are used for IVF, which always involves wasted embryos.

I used to be Catholic. For Catholics there are two problems: the IVF procedure and that masturbation is involved in obtaining the sperm.
