Is anybody else experiencing this?
Only on WP, all the colours have been lost, the screen is stark white and every single avatar is an empty white box with a red cross in the corner. It's very unpleassant!
The glare means I can't concentrate and absorb the meaning of posts.
Also, clicking a link takes 10 to 20 times longer to down-load.
Some of the threads don't have 'post a reply' links.
Is this a WP problem or just my computer?
It happened once before and went away after two days.
I guess I should be patient, but it's driving me NUTS!
I've done a 'Registry Fix' and deleted 'Browzing history' in 'Internet Options' to no avail.
:(
At least Emoticons work.

Any suggestions?
Thanks in advance, precious friends.

Which browser are you using?

I have had firefox go nuts on me before and I just restart it.
I do have adblock on it and I think that can make things go awry.
Also, I turn off cookies sometimes and forget to accept them again before hitting a site I do use a password for.

Probably every problem I have is related to user issues and not the computer though.

Not sure about your issues yet.

Nope, no problem here-and my connection is a mere dial-up one. You don't say which browser you're using-FYI mine is Safari-so, make of that what you will. I don't understand such things.

Am grateful that I haven't this glitch (sounds awful) going on, for once-there have been a number of occasions when I've had technical difficulties getting the site to function.

No problems outside of WP/web? It sounds like it could be a ram or graphics card problem.

You can use the strike-thru function here, but not white-out!

I don't know what your problem is!

I also asked about browser-and only reason was because when I have a tech. problem, that's what has been asked of me. That's extent of my understanding, though.

Was worried you'd mistake my comment for gloating or being snarky-but I wasn't being that way, I just don't use "smilies" to accentuate my words.

I had a white out for the first time a few days ago but it righted itself in a few minutes. Weird.

Isn't there a blond joke about using whiteout on computer screens,
sound like your page isn't opening all the way try clearing out your
browsers cache, that should fix your problem

Out of the frying pan, into the fire!
Problem solved.I tried turning off the modem, reseting the modem, didn't work,
the next day I realised there's that other little box down there, the router?
which has been on 24 hours a day for the last year!
So I reset that and turned it off for an hour.Turned it back on and everythings back to normal.
Sweet :D

The next day I plugged the power outlet board the computers on back into another power board,
since I'v been unplugging it at night, don't ask me why.
Zap! it crackled as it slid in and Flash! from the back of the computer!
I unhooked it again and now I'm waiting for the working week to start again so I can get an expert to double check it.
:x :(
I can't find any damage anywhere and both power boards still work,
I took the sides off the computer, no damage either, but it's full of cobwebs (incidentally discovered the on/off switch DOH!)
I'm writing this on Mums laptop.
At the very least the computer needs a professional clean and service
and the ppl I found also do training, which I've determined to do, damn the cost.
I'm sick of being a computer illiterate and living in fear of the computer and the confusion and making embarassing mistakes
and being in awe of Genius' like Alex 8) :hail:
So, serendipity, maybe.
The only worry is if I've lost all my photos of my nephew and nieces growing up,
which I always meant to share or save, but didn't because of the previously mentioned fear and confusion
and procrastination.

Alex, while I've got your attention, would you add a 'direct debit' option in the Support Wrong Planet Awareness! page?
I've been meaning to make a donation forever :!:
But it would be more reassuring for me to know that every month an amount was sent to you without fail,
rather than relying on my best intentions thwarting my procrastination, anxiety and executive functioning problems.

Thanks everyaspy that posted, it all helped. :salut:
even the stuff I didn't understand. :D
