In its list of side effects, Tylenol wrote:
If you take more than the maximum daily amount, it may cause serious (possibly fatal) liver disease. Tell your doctor immediately if you have any of the following symptoms of liver damage: severe nausea, yellowing eyes or skin, dark urine, stomach pain, extreme fatigue. A very serious allergic reaction to this drug is unlikely, but seek immediate medical attention if it occurs. Symptoms of a serious allergic reaction may include: rash, itching, swelling, severe dizziness, trouble breathing. If you notice other effects not listed above, contact your doctor or pharmacist.

Oops, they accidentally left the liver damage warning off the advertisement . . .

A recent randomized, blind, placebo-controlled trial article in the prestigious Journal of the American Medical Association (JAMA) found that 1 in 3 healthy people who took the maximum recommended daily dosage for 14 days developed elevated liver enzymes, an indication of liver damage.

I think it's irresponsible of them to recommend a potentially dangerous drug to treat symptoms of hunger that can be safely treated with food. Don't think it's safe to take the recommended dosage for more than a few days.

It's sick and irresponsible to advertise tylenol that way. You get the headaches from skipping meals because of low blood sugar. Is anorexia becoming a cultural phenomenon, into which tylenol is now playing? It's much better to eat when you're hungry than take pills. People also make poor decisions about what to eat if they let themselves get too hungry.

It's been shown that the more you use headache pills for headaches, the more susceptible you become to headaches. So if you're getting headaches from not eating, it'd be a lot better just to eat! Unless you want more headaches and worse ones at that.

Best to stick to the motto 'Treat the cause, not the symptom'

People who take Tylenol for headaches caused by hunger deserve liver damage. Seriously. That doesn't excuse the advertisement, but still - how hard is it to eat something when you feel hungry?

I saw the Tylenol ad on tv which said dehydration can cause headaches (which I agree with).

Hopefully, people who see that would go get a glass of water-and skip the Tylenol. So the campaign seems kinda' sneaky (as if they're telling you not to use their product-because they really care about your health, not their bottom line), but the information contained therein-that lack of food or liquid can make one also feel ill, and maybe one should have a bite to eat or a drink of water rather than taking a pill seems okay...

I wish there were more treatment options for chronic tension headaches. I get them daily for weeks at a time. During this time, I have to take the maximum doses of ibuprofen and Excedrin (Tylenol + Aspirin + caffeine). My liver enzymes are often slightly elevated (maybe because of this?), but not enough to be of concern. Apparently, there can be a lot of inconsequential variation in liver enzymes. Below a certain point, elevated liver enzymes indicate that your liver is working harder than usual, not that it is damaged.

It seems like they're saying "Eat/drink, make sure it's not just that first, then if that fails take our pill."

Kinda of seems like the please drink responsibily alcohol advertisements from the liquor companies.

It looks like they're encouraging people to skip meals. That's disturbing.

I have to watch everything I take, since I am diabetic, including any pain killers, its a good thing I have very high pain threshold, had to pass a 3mm kidney stone, it was only after a week of trying to pass the 6mm one where they put me on IV morphine.
I also get bad migraines so instead of taking tylenol or ibuprofen, drink coffee or strong tea which seems to help

Am prescribed tylex/tylenol cocodamol...it does have some good side affects such as numbing sensory problems-problem is its not a long term regular drug [or designed for anything but pain] because it gets immune to quite quickly.
