JoeLlama should stop having power in the chat section- BAN!

I made a joke. A silly joke using the word f**k, using irony to show the distortion that word typically has.

Using the "/quit" action, I left with a message containing that joke as a goodbye joke.

I came back to notice that I was banned.

There was a bug in the chat that allowed me to watch the discussion without being able to talk there.

And everyone was criticizing for baning me without a good reason. Because I said joke as a joke and not as in a curse or profanity, because I didn't personally attack anyone, because I left as I said that and a ban was unnecessary.

I say that it was an abuse of power. You can't ban a person without first telling them "I can ban you if you keep saying that". I did not know the chat could ban people, I did not know that making a joking statement could get a ban.

I did not know that in Wrong Planet fascism was the norm. And I don't say that, another user referred to JoeLlama's action as fascism.

I agree with that user.

JoeLlama is a fascist power corrupted person and HE should be banned. I saw him use profanity too, he is not only a fascist but an hypocrite.

PS: I do not mean that freedom of speech should allow profanity. I mean that profanity used in a constructive way is freedom of speech, I used profanity as a means to make a point about society and it's contradictions with the result of it being funny and true. Many people laughed at it and commented that I was right.
I do not support the use of profanity to attack verbally, to flood the chat or nonconstructive uses.

You were told the rules, you disobeyed, you were asked to leave or follow them, you left breaking them as you left, you were then muted, not banned, that's why you were allowed back in, but no one could see anything you said.

Follow the rules in the future! Just be happy Joe dealt with you, not me, I have zero tolerance for childish behavior like that, and lately, unfortunately, zero spare time to be on channel.

As for the guy who was supporting you, he's frequently banned for supporting anyone who challenges any op and/or attacks them. The fact he supported you just makes you all the higher up on the annoying list. A troll supporting a troll is just two trolls asking for bans imho.

I'm not a troll. I weren't told the rules so I couldn't disobey anyone. I was not told to leave, I left on my own terms and got banned AFTER I left. I was not muted, I went back at the same time I was being baned because I tried to open another chat window just to be sure. The other window said I was baned, so it means that I was back in thanks to a bug in the IRC.
I will follow the rules now, but the rules should be more specific. I was not being childish, you should have been there.
And how do you know who was supporting me if you wasn't there? And it was more than one person.
I believe that you should know more about what happened before saying anything.

The facts remain the same. I left and I was baned after I left, which is an abuse of power.

You could make trebot state the rules for incoming people in such a way that the message will be visible only for them (in order to not flood).
And bans should be based on votes and not in the decision of one person.

Bans aren't always permanent.

Yes I know, Llama himself said it was only temporary, but what makes me launch steam is the fact that he acted in an unproper way for someone with that responsibility.

First, he acted by himself without support of other mods or users. You can't ban someone just because you disliked what he did.

Second, the fact that I used a swear word doesn't mean that I was swearing. There is a big subjective point that he missed. I don't know if its "legal" in this context to bend the rules to make them suit for your purposes, I think it's wrong.

Third, he didn't gave warning nor explanation for his actions. Let's just skip trials and fry people at the electric chair, it will save time! Let's have the police shoot suspects! Yay!

Fourth, I left by myself, what can you do to someone that already withdraws, whatever are his reasons. I left before someone complained and that should have been enough.

Fifth, nobody likes bullies, specially when they have power.
