I've never really known a book to encourage violence and force the way the Qu'ran does. I know there are a lot of nice muslim people out there, but the book isn't so much.
"If anyone comes to me and does not hate his father and mother, his wife and children, his brothers and sisters—yes, even his own life—he cannot be my disciple." Jesus, in Luke 14:26
I find it interesting that you pick specifically Luke's telling of Jesus's statement, and not Matthew's or Mark's.
"Anyone who loves his father or mother more than me is not worthy of me; anyone who loves his son or daughter more than me is not worthy of me" (Matt 10:37).
"'I tell you the truth,' Jesus replied, 'no one who has left home or brothers or sisters or mother or father or children or fields for me and the gospel will fail to receive a hundred times as much in this present age (homes, brothers, sisters, mothers, children and fields—and with them, persecutions) and in the age to come, eternal life'" (Mark 10:29-30).
So, clearly Jesus is referring to us placing our ultimate loyalty with God, above all else.
And also, Jesus told a man that he must honor his parents in order to inherit eternal life:
"As Jesus started on his way, a man ran up to him and fell on his knees before him. 'Good teacher,' he asked, 'what must I do to inherit eternal life?' 'Why do you call me good?' Jesus answered. 'No one is good—except God alone. You know the commandments:
Do not murder, do not commit adultery, do not steal, do not give false testimony, do not defraud, honor your father and mother.'" (Mark 10:17-19)
