I posted a new topic, and it didn't appear in the little list on the right, on the home page. Why is that?

that little list i believe only shows topics in General Autism Discussion.. and i believe its randomly selected... so dont worry about it..

I think you have it backward. There are a few forums which do NOT result in new topics being listed there. This one, adult, members only and I think haven are excluded. Other than that, it's just a FIFO (first in, first out) list.
