That's rich. A guy is denying that he has free will. Which was a decision. You decided to say you have no free will in order to illustrate how you have no free will.

How you react to that statement is up to you. You can choose to get mad, or you can ignore it. How wil you react to being insulted? What will you choose?

How can I accept I have free will? If I have free will then I am my own God. I deny free will and accept that my will is His will.

Tell me, how does it feel to be your own God? You are doing a poor job at being one.

I am not my own God. If I tried to be, I could only fail. God doesn't me to have no will of my own. My embracing of Him only has meaning if it is my decision. Why do any of us have free will?

What decision he makes will be made based on his past history, (nurture) and his gentic makeup (nature). both his past and his genetics he can't change and is not in control of. He has no choice but to act in accordance with himself.
As long as you concede that a person's past and possibly genetics defines his soul, both of which he can't control or change no matter how hard he tries, then he can't control himself and therefore has no freewill.

You are arguing on the basis that you have free will. How sure of you that you found Him and are embracing Him? He only reveals himself to whomever He wishes. What say do you have on such matter? He can curse a devotee and bless a criminal. Your emotions matter not to His will, neither your intellect, nor your prayer.

So answer this question to yourself: if He controls all that was created, controls all that has yet to be created, knows all which is to be, How is it that all of a sudden He has become ignorant of your destiny? Is He anticipating that you make the right decision and cries to Himself when you do not?




Now The_Chosen_One believes in Karma and free-will. But why would we will ourselves to carry over our previous works and acts? If we so have willed it we would have willed that Karma not affect us--to have been born perfect without disease and death. But since we were born to be sons of Death, our free-will did not rescue us from this end.

Karma exists to those who wish it. There's your free-will, working to bind you to this world.

Free will alows you to do whatever you choose. If you choose to be a 'bad boy', then Karma will punish you in the next life by delivering back on you the bad lifestyle you chose. Same as if you choose to do good. You can be born 'evil' because of your acts in a previous existence, but you also have the free will to change for the better or worse and influence the next life. Christians on the other hand, only believe they have one shot at it, and they therefore are trying to make good in their current life to have a better hereafter. With us, our lives just keep re-incarnationg so we have aeons to get it right.

FWIW, I'm a Christian who does in fact put some stock in karma and reincarnation. Buddhism and Christianity, I've found, go together like peanut butter and jelly.

A belief in free-will is binding. A belief in karma is binding. They are illusions which keep us in this world. Why believe in them? Why wish for them?

To wish to have another life so that one can correct himself is to wish to drown again and again just so he can pull himself out.
