By the object selected you mean the majority? That would mean that the "correct" religion would tend to be what the majority of people follow most. Unless the religion is an imposition from the government but that would seem to be a dictatorship. Although some would consider a theocracy as a form of tyranny.

Different thoughts from Christianity have their contradictions even if it is from the same denomination but from different backgrounds, Christianity ideologies differ from different cultures, american Christianity is looked to be either hyprocrisy or contradictory in certain aspects according to the point of view of Christians from other cultures (some have stated USA to be the New Babylon, and it makes sense
) they would consider the original ideology of Christianity (original teachings from Jesus) while american conservative Christians believe theirs is the best and that let's say Europe, is not as moral as theirs. Different interpretations and new ones have form in the passage of time and within different cultures.
Some aspects that look to be contradictory and to be hypocrisy for some in american Conservative Christianity is: gun ownership supporters that happen to be christians, support of the war on Irak, issues related to immigration, death penalty to some (liberal christians in that case), strong on capitalism (considering that heaven is a socialist utopia, something curious), but then, interpretations of a religion change to go according to what it suits better for a government or culture, depending on their reality I would assume.
