i got a pic of me at my bands gig yesterday lol, its the most recent, im the chick with the blue hair XD the bass is named The Queen Elizibeth because im gonna get her a custom pickguard with the british flag on it

Image

not the most flattering pic, as the shirt is ill-fitting (but its a nifty dir en grey shirt!) but im too lazy to go find anything better

aw, that sucks that your graduating class thought you transferred o_o; i usually get remembered by complete strangers, even though i dont talk much, just because of my stranger appearances. im always changing my hair color and i wear platform boots every day. yyyeah, tends to grab attention, but i dont do it for attention, i do it cause it makes me feel spiffy ^^; lol, i say indeed and talk fancy from time to time cause im overly influenced by lolita fashions @_@ major Manamal here

I wish I could play an instrument, all I do is sing. My brother plays a bunch of instruments. He started on the piano, then guitar, and a bunch of others, but mostly he plays the banjo now. Not a huge fan of banjo, but I enjoy watching the technique.

yeah, im not a fan of bluegrass music, or how it or the banjo sounds, but it takes alot of talent to play it, and its fun to watch :3

i started on violin in 6th grade and became the best in my class within 2 monthes... thats a combination of having musical parents *mom played saxophone for the marine corps band and my real dad played bagpipes for the scottish military* i absorb knowledge, and the fact that not many other people in the class really gave a crap and were just in there cause their parents made them :/ not much competition there... but i have won lots of medals on violin. i then picked up piano, then guitar, and then bass guitar. i like bass guitar best now, and am one of the better bassists for my age in the city i live in. i still got a ways to go though, though i can play some stuff from Rush, Dir en Grey, and Dolly ^^ as well as playing my violin music up-to-speed on bass. i need to learn actual bass technique though. like, i need to play bass like its a bass, rather than just another instrument. hence why im taking jazz band at school this year *nod nod*

I'm a big fan of Rush. I'm also a fan of Primus, who I hope you have heard of. Les Claypool did a lot to make the bass a more mainstream instrument. So, your a senior then? I graduated from HS 10 years ago this year... doesn't seem that long ago. I'm not sure I understand how you play a bass like a bass though. I mean, its an instrument, you play it how you want to, right?

im talking about like, jazz bass techniques, like slapping, popping, and many other things. and yeah, i was -supposed- to be a senior this year, but due to my education being f****d over by my middle school, i havent been taught things that i need to know in order to pass, so im repeating freshman year for the third time (ive also had to repeat 7th grade, but thats cause a teacher disliked me so he failed me) ive gotten to the point where im in a decent amount of like, junior classes, like english and social studies-type classes, because ive already passed the freshman lvl of them enough to have all my high school credits for them forever, so i dont need to repeat those anymore... but math and science.. epic-fail >_<

I sucked at algebra when I started High School, so they put me into a math class for people with dyslexia and ADD... omg it changed my life. It started out with doing addition and subtraction with little plastic blocks, but over the course of the year we progressed to doing quadratic equations with little plastic blocks, and because of the visual assistance of the blocks, I was finally able to put my mind around it. I wish I could get you more info, in case it could help you with math. Science, well, it's my main interest, so I've never had problems with science.

my high school tried putting me in the math class with the ADD kids, but it was just the exact same thing as the other classes except smaller, louder, and the other students were a little more ignorant... half of them werent even ADD _-_ a visual aid would be lovely in math classes, im a visual/kinesthetic learner (probably why i learn music so fast, as well as sewing, cooking, drawing, and other related crafts and hobbies) mostly a kinesthetic learner though *because its more enjoyable so it gains my interest, i cant learn things and remember them if they werent interesting to some extent*

i need to get to sleep right about now, its almost 4:30am where i am and i gotta be awake at noon :o nightnight, talk to you laters~

Image dancey dancey dancey spinny spinny~

I lived on Yokota AFB for four years. I love Japan.
Anyway, you sound normal to me. You need to learn some techniques to get along with people who are normal in other ways. Keep reading the articles on this website. There's a neat book out by Temple Grandin and Sean Somebody called The Unspoken Rules of Social Relationships, if memory serves correctly. There are a number of books published by Jessica Kingsley you might find interesting too.

Hi,

Me i have trouble remembering peoples names. hey dude I feel really sorry for you about your divorce. My wife hasnt dumped me yet, so i still have time to learn about aspie hardwiring and attempt some cognitive self-help. i have little kids, if i end up divorced it really is disastersville for me.

i have learn to be really diplomatic, like ALL the time. Sometimes I want to say someething but part of me senses itsa the wrong time for my wife to be receptive. i have to get in touch with that part of me more now.

The other thing is understanding triggers, eg anger triggers. i have this partly under control, but BOY I hate being hassled by a stressed wife if im trying to drive the car ! !! !! !

Arguments or "conflicting negotiations" are tricky too. people can really "press your buttons", then hate you for reacting. So I have to be extremely mature, like a wise and kind old grandfather. Having little kids has been excellent practise for this ! !! ! Its such a shame adults are so immature when their ego or self interest is threatened.

its unfair but I try to see it as my karma. i pretend i was a bad character in a past life, a poweful slave-owner in the colonial era. in this life my lesson is to learn to survive as a powerless person, and to try to succeed anyway, despite the obstacles.

Self-help is important coz if ya dont learn to help yourself, nobody else will ! !! !

Also I have to learn the trick of being assertive as well as diplomatic. Its a tightrope walk to politely say no to something your wife wants that you know is not appropriate. Im trying to be supportive and not annoy her, but some things she wants i just refuse to give in. This could cost me my marriage, so it really is a tightrope walk.

We had an argument about me looking for work. i stopped looking a while ago coz my wife went overeas and i had to look after the kids. she got back and ive just been busy being a domestic person / handyman / babysitter. i told her darling if you leave me alone on Saturday I will look for a job. Saturday is the best day to find an employer who just wants to hire someone (instead of phsychoanalysing them in a humiliating interview). Saturdays come and its the old babysitting routine again. Today she brought up the subject again. I said ok BUT I am not available for you or the kids or outings or handyman jobs etc on saturday. just leave me alone on saturday till about 3 pm. She wants me to go to her freinds house to do my job searching coz the kids want me to play with them when im home. Thats not really an issue, the fact is she wants to do domestic stuff and subconscoiusly wants me to take the kids off her hands so she can get her chores done (or chat to freinds on the phone). The compromise is probably going to have to be that I just take a packed lunch and ride my bycicle off into the dawn on a saturday. she is annoyed because she has a morning gym session on saturday and relies on me to be at home. but hey the guy who is hiring wants my call at 8 or 9 am. my strategy will be to start searching on fridays listings, pick the ideal 2 or 3 jobs and be ready to phone or apply bright and early. last year I used to apply for admin jobs with like 2 weeks to send your application. it involved writing 3 or 4 pages addressing the criteria. I hated it, even tho i got better at the cut and paste method. I had about 12 interviews but they were wasting my time in most cases. so admin is out. I'll try sales now, or customer service call centers or retail. anyhow my wife doest get it. she is still living in the past, when i was there to support her every need coz she had little babies and not enough time. Now her time-deficit problem are more to do with going to the gym or those lovely picnic days or the endless play center drop-ins. Its all lovely stuff but the point is her time-deficit is mostly due to her planning. i have been a full-time dad for a long time it seems, but there are new interests in my life that are re-emerging (mostly scientific research and collaborative communication about projects and designs for project equipment). i have to wean my wife off her total dependance on me without causing a divorce. i dont mind a partial dependence but if she has a tantrum coz i dont support her in being able to go to the gym, that is actually her problem. if she makes life hell over it, then its my problem too.my kids sometimes have tantrums but they get over it. i just have to remember she has limited vision. my research interests might land me back in professional employment, but the cahnces are remote because of the lack of academic freedom and the influence of profit in resource allocation. i have some great project ideas. i would make a good professor but i need paid assistants and help from collaborators. they call it networking, but i can tell you many are called but few are chosen. my wife says if it doesnt bring in any money then i am wasting my time. i jst want to fulfil my destiny. i put my ideas out into forums and even if i dont get to run the project, the ideas are seeded into the minds of people who MIGHT get the opportunity. And they can always email me for advice. For my good deeds i am threatened with divorce. She who must be obeyed wants me to sell paint or help people process their paperwork so we can find half a million dollars to get one extra room and a yard with some grass for a dog to crap on. freedom.

maybe divorce is inevitable. my destiny and creativity are irresistable forces and my wife is an immovable object.

Thank you for the reply and your thoughts. Divorce was terrifying for me at first, but now I actually see it as a blessing, my ex and I get along much better now.
