What's with the alien logo?

Look at the Wrongplanet logo, the one with the alien, today.

Why is he carrying a cake? According to Alex' profile, it's not his birthday. Maybe some other event is happening this great day.

Is this going to be a bit like Google, with slightly different logo pics at certain events?

EDIT: I'm not even sure anymore this isn't the usual old image.

I can see it too... I hadn't noticed it until you pointed it out.

It was basically WP's birthday a while ago back in June along with Alex's birthday in the same month so that is why there a cake in the alien's hands.

We're now in August so it's over, no more cakes, presents, parties, confetti, and so forth Alex. The fun has now passed into the domain of seriousness.....
