not that much better.

bush sticks to the script less which is why he sounds like that more often. obama sticks to the script....i know that's technically an improvement but going from -50 to -45 is still unacceptable.

well back when it was still relevant, i proposed ron paul but that got shot down pretty quick. probably will still pencil him in. disagree with a few of his ideas but i agree with him on the money and global political issues which both seem to be the most pending issues.

OK, I voted for Paul in the primaries. Anyways, he's not registered as a write-in candidate so any write-in votes for him won't even be tabulated.

bummer....maybe symbolic protest and a roundabout way of abstaining?

i think the thing that hurt him the worst was that he was too nice and never really got angry when he was attacked and never hit back hard enough. he thought having the numbers on his side would be enough.

The thing that hurt him the most was that he never got a foot in the door with decent media coverage. No one would cover him because he wasn't a serious contender, and he was never able to become a serious contender because he was never covered. Lovely little catch-22.

Plus, he was too intellectual for general consumption media. Most voters don't want to listen to a lecture on Austrian economic theory, they want to hear that we're going to beat up on those bad oil companies and give more money to the poor while magically eliminating the budget deficit. Further, they don't want to listen to ideas about "blowback" and attempt to understand the root of the problem in order to solve it, they just want to kill those bad Muslims so they can't be a problem any more.

All the media coverage he did get was fairly negative and skeptical of him because he couldn't generate 5-10 second sound bytes. His shortest sound bytes were against war with Iran and Iraq which both won't appeal to the redneck republican constituents (aka, everything between new york and california).

with the toilet incident and the congressional paiges and Jeff Gannon...I doubt the republicans want to talk about "blowback" any time soon. They've been getting enough behind closed doors...and stalls...and from little boys....

From what I see he is guilty of being too polite. It seems like a fairly intimate (for this type of event) and he didnt want to tell the heckler to shut the f**k up. With regard to bad oration you really cannot compare him to Bush cos Bush is far worse without being heckled. Did you guys get the footage of Bush over here in Austrlalia thanking the Austrian government ! !! !! !! !
