Hi there
No unified intros thread huh?
I wouldn't say I'm really really self-conscious about my condition, just trying this place since there might be a good deal of people with similar viewpoints. FWIW, I have a medical diagnosis
Since academics is a good way to define someone in a nutshell at a certain age, I'll say that I'm an undergraduate computer science student now; I want to wrap up a BS in Computer Science in the next two years and then complete a Master's in Applied Math or Operations Research. Since I'm better at solving problems than coming up with them, this path makes the most sense because I can simply ask some company to hand me some problems
I might continue then to Ph.D. research. If I am lucky enough to land a Department of Defense scholarship or something like that I have no doubts, because those things are really comprehensive (strings attached of course)
I intend to specialize in artificial intelligence and will probably work for the military or a military contractor. That might be in the USA or People's Republic of China ... I'm pretty impartial here; nationalism is not the issue at all, although Chinese people generally seem to accept my personality more than Americans and I sure appreciate that quality. I'm specializing my education in and out of school for this end. OR has some things in common with AI, plus I focus on maths that are good for AI and computer science in general: graph theory, formal logic, probability and higher algebra are very very interesting and vital for my field
Nice to meet you
