Does your life have a purpose?
What is your purpose if you have one?
Learning is something worthwhile…. you won’t regret it.
Not much point in having a large brain.. if we don't use it.
Pain is unavoidable.
OK.. this is my game plan.. for the coming week.
MONDAY…… Tear down religion
TUESDAY……. Rebuild it.. in hearts and minds.. on the firm foundation of.. loving kindness.. righteousness.. justice.. peace.. wisdom.. truth.. and freedom.
WEDNESDAY.. criminalize governments.. judges.. and priests..
Lock them all up… and throw away the key.. (unless they repent.. and then.. I would forgive them).
THURSDAY.. establish the law.. of treating each other the way we would wish to be treated ourselves..
Throw away all those old.. dusty..books of law.. full of ill-considered complex regulations.
FRIDAY.. Re-write existing physics.. to include an imaginary dimension. This would solve.. what is known as.. “the problem of consciousness".
SATURDAY.. Save the environment.. make public transport free (paid for by transferring the defense budget)..
Employ the army.. planting trees.
SUNDAY.. take a rest….. stay in bed.. watch tv.. and cook myself a decent meal.. and ponder why my life seems so meaningless.. and lonely…..
I will write a more serious response later.. just got home from work…
I need to take a nap..
I need time for my brain cells to regroup.

"Ultimately, man should not ask what the meaning of his life is, but rather must recognize that it is he who is asked.
In a word, each man is questioned by life; and he can only answer to life by answering for his own life; to life he can only respond by being responsible."

The way I look at it, everyone has a purpose.
Purpose is our reason for being, without it we wouldn't "be" at all. Being is not a static thing, it's a dynamic process, projection of thought into form requiring directed will force. Being is a growth process towards fulfilling your purpose, you cannot "be" in a static sense or you would cease to be at all.
In simple terms and knowing ourselves, we simply don't do anything without a reason and being is doing.

Circumstance Rules!
I agree with the person who said learning, I had intended to stop studying, but I realise I need it. It gives me a sense of moving forward in life. Course it has to be on my topic of interest.
My job, I start work in 22 minutes and I'm not really looking forward to it, but it does give me a sense of purpose in life. My work keeps me sane.
For me there is no purpose. There is no reason to be, or even to continue being. I'm just here. Things I do, they don't matter. I might be of some use to others, helpful, but really, what is it to them? They will die eventually, and that help will be for...what exactly?
Everything's dust in the end anyway.
Knowledge, power, truth, for what?
I'm "happiest" (really crappy word) when I'm "away." Being disconnected. Away from fake things. I don't mean being "above it all," I don't mean to sound like a high falutin' asswipe here, it's a different thing.
[edit] Slightly more in my blog.
