Was there recently a purge in the PPR forum?

The News and Current Events forum seems to be inundated lately with castoffs from PPR, and they're making a real mess over there...

I'm seeing increasing numbers of posts that have little or nothing to do with news, like the one started by a certain bird lover who wants your vote for his presidential bid, or the one started by 9/11 conspiracy buffs accusing high-level government officials of horrendous crimes, or the one that started out as speculation of who the vice-presidential candidates would be but quickly degraded into a rant by a fellow who describes himself as a male lesbian and demands that others either refute his rants or admit he's right.

Usually this forum does well without constant moderation. The regulars are respectful of each others' views and adhere to the rules on their own. It's a good little forum and I like it a lot, but lately it seems like the worst of the PPR forum has been dumped there, and not a moderator in sight.

I'm not aware of any PPR purge. We haven't had any 9/11 conspiracy nuts in there for a while, though.

What's wrong with a 9/11 conspiracy thread in the PPR forum, should a thread like that be censored?

no, no recent purge anywhere.

Someone asked to move over a pot boiler of a thread from News to PPR. I agreed, so I did.

we have our hands full culling out the trolls and vendors, guys. Just drop a line to a mod if something needs moved, we appreciate it.

I think PPR should be renamed to the Blah Blah Blah
and crap it's the same its the same old arguments.

in the PPR forum it's fine... this one's in the news forum...

It is the same thread, in the news forum and was moved to the PPR forum, as it seemed to be suited better there.
