I couldn't agree more.

I know you Americans have a genetically programmed repulsion of socialism but have a look at this. I dont agree with everything these folks say but they do offer something different and if nothing else their website is a good place to go for a different view of world events and the news

In opinion, third-party candidates are jokes.
They know they will not win, so what's the point of running?

That's a very poor argument for socialism and barely has anything to do with socialism at all. Plus the dudes running look kinda creepy. The bottom one looks like a child molester's mugshot.

Socialist candidate from the early 20th century. Ran in several elections, got jailed for advocating draft resistance during WWI. He ran for President from jail in 1920 and didn't do any worse than he did campaigning as a free man.

Third party candidates aren't jokes, Republican and Democrat candidates are jokes.

If we only had 2 choices, would it truly be a democracy?

Also, I disagree with your "they know they will not win" statement.
Jesse Ventura ran as a third party candidate for governor of Minnesota. Guess what? He won. Angus King ran as governor of Maine as a third party candidate. Guess what? He won...twice.
Abe Lincoln also became President running as a third party candidate (yes, the Republicans were once a third party).

Third party candidates have also brought up important issues that the two main incompetent parties wouldn't discuss. For example, Ross Perot brought up the growing national debt. That won him 19% of the popular vote (but at one point he was ahead of Bush Sr. and Clinton at 36%).

The reason third party candidates have such a hard time winning is because the Republicans and Democrats have both colluded to keep down any third parties. They founded the election committee which makes an effort to keep any minor parties out of the national debates. Many states have also made oppressive laws that make it nearly impossible for minor parties to get on the ballot.

A vote for third party is a vote for real change, and a vote to open up our political system. That's why I'm voting third party this year. That, and the 2 main parties just suck to begin with...
