Very well then, Fnord. You may have your opinion and I shall have mine. But you see I am Not claiming my opinion to be fact whereas when you start with "There is no....." thats the way you come across.

Fair enough. I am an overbearing jerk with strong opinions of my own.

Although if you do have a passage to an alternate universe, and that passage does not involve mind-altering chemicals, religious conversion, or an out-of-body experience (such as death), then please let me know.

I do wanna point one thing out about this Dark Flow. This observation is perhaps the last nail in Dialectical Materialism's coffin. Whatever is exerting a force on these galaxies clearly Must have mass-as required by Gravitational law-but does NOT emit electromagnetic radiation. What I wonder about is gravitational radiaton..if it exists and if so what speed does it travel at.
But like it said, it really DOES indeed suggest that there are higher dimensons to the Universe that cannot be observed by electromagnetic means.

From what I've read, gravity waves propagate at the speed of light.

Also, the only matter that emits no E-M raditation is either completely degenerate or exists very close to the temperature of absolute zero. Neither of these states require an alternate universe.

Again, this isn't an alternate universe per se, at least is my impression. This is overhyped. Reading the press release here, it really just sounds more like something which comes from an area outside of the radius of the visible universe. This is totally different from the kind of alternate universes which are a staple of bad scifi (although, to be sure, *some* people might argue it is quite possible to set up an experiment where one could individually test the MWI of QT, by committing quantum suicide )

It would also seem that the proposition is not just made willy nilly, but rather that there are anomalous features which have lead them to conclude the matter in the visible universe does not account for the motion seen.

This is generally thought to be the case, although I believe I read that they are intending to test this in the future, it saying that a sub-luminal speed would indicate the hypothetical graviton has mass.

Though seemingly unrelated I would like to say that the Earth is round only from a relative perspective, if one adds the dimension of time it becomes flat again. Perhaps it can be both at the same time. Also, our Earth orbits around its Sun only from a relative perspective. In reality, they orbit one another around a shared point. The addition of temporal reasoning to this second conjecture expands the perspective as well.

Actually........lemme put it another way: since it is impossible to observe(directly OR indirectly) anything beyond the Universe(including black hole event horizons  ), any assertions that there Is or Isnt *something* beyond the unvierse are non-falsifiable. That is my main reason for disagreeing with Fnords view. Because if I su there is something beyond the Universe there is NO possible way to put such claims to the test for the reasons I mentioned above. Might I add: the ONLY known particle that has no interaction with the electromagnetic force is the Neutrino which makes them the primary candidate for Dark Matter.
As for degenerate matter, such can be found inside neutron stars which emit very intense electromagnetic radiation. If the gravitational forces are strong enough to overcome the electrical repulsion the Pauli exclusion principle dicatates that the quanta inside this degenerate matter will be moving at very high speeds over short distances to compensate and as they approach relativistic speeds close the speed of light their mass wil increase without bound and you get a black hole which does not emit any detectable radiation.
