I have to admit, I have never heard or even thougt of this concept. What is going on around here? Putting an end to sex unless it is for procreation...Putting the suicidal out of their misery to harvest their organs...Putting an end to breeding humans for the sake of the planet...

Christmas must be coming.

Hehe nah I think just the global economic crisis is giving people the first glimpse in a long time of how fragile our world is these days and of things to come if we continue to maintain the status quo.

Nobody here said anything about maintaining the status quo though. Anything but...

Making the world is a better place is a noble and valuable task. Doing it in ret*d and stupid ways is a waste of time and effort.

i think voluntary individual self-extinction is great (ask the japanese for good methods to do it...look for suicide clubs). if someone's stupid enough to do it for that reason, then they're saving us the other ret*d ideas they may latch on to later.

Admittedly, anyone who actually subscribes to this idea is probably best made to stay out of the gene-pool... like a smelly kid with a verucca who forgot his costume. I wholeheartedly agree with the extinction of stupid, and back it fully.

Even if it seems like a stupid idea to you I don't think firm belief, resolution, and altruism should be "removed from the gene-pool".

If anything I think those people willing to give up their right to children for the good of mankind should be the only ones allowed to breed. We need more people with that kind of selflessness.

Its good that you oppose suicide but belittling the people who do it is ignorant and disrespectful towards their families and the things they accomplished before their death.

If you want to say suicide is a stupid thing to do go for it but don't call exceptional researchers, university professors, artists, writers, mothers, fathers, students and other people you know nothing about "stupid".

It is a stupid and foolish waste of life, and serves no purpose except to destroy the lives of those around them. I have EXCEPTIONAL issue with those who actually had something worthwhile to contribute doing it. Too many outstanding talents are lost to accident already. Should we have to lose them to this pointless act? Even more so ANY PARENT who thinks that their own demise is anything other than a horrific thing to do to their children is a fool.

I only have to know that they were stupid enough to kill themselves to know that utlimately they were stupid. I dont think I can be any clearer on this.

There is perhaps only one mitigating area, and that is voluntary euthanasia on the grounds of extreme compromising of health or living standards.

No HEALTHY human being is ever so totally beyond help that their death is going to be a useful act, and doing this sort of thing to children and loved ones is stupid and utterly selfish.

VHEMT is not about massive suicides, it's about convincing as many people as possible that not breeding is preferable to breeding at this moment in our history.

I do not support suicide in any way, although sometimes it is preferable to people with no chance at life and I respect that. Questions that keep coming up are numerous and sensitive, such as

Should the goverment control peoples procreation?

Should somebody have the choice of taking ones life?

Should abortions be allowed? If so how many weeks in?

And theres much more. VHEMT Seems to just be people volunteering not to have any children to help faulter the worlds population growth. I admit that there is a lot of debate over any issue like this and both sides have their radical supporters but these are stil important issues in this topc. Should 'nanny' state have even more control over us? do you not think that they are being a bit too protective and removing the wrong personal liberties and freeing the wrong ones?
