Regular exercise is masochistic. At very least, it makes me sweat and feel out of breath and my muscles feel heavy and tired, which is not comfortable
I think you are thinking of the middle way, even if I took issue with 'prosperity and comfort' in the original post.
Getting adequate protein and vitamins and minerals is a good thing. Restricting total calories (even to levels that are not generally thought of as 'reasonable') is healthy.
