Ok, so, what is Autism Sunday? And who designated it so? Anyone I approve of? (I thought we had Autism Pride Day sometime later in the year.)

Autism sundae. That sounds like a great idea. I'm thinking chocolate ice cream with chunks of brownies, and fresh cherries on top mushed up so the juice is running all over.

Here is something I Googled on it:

Autism Sunday was launched in 2002 by British autism adocates and caregivers Ivan and Charika Corea who launched the day with a ground breaking service at St.Paul's Cathdral in London.

Since then Autism Sunday has grown into a huge movement across many nations. The organisers of Autism Sunday have urged parents and caregivers to use the day to lobby and campaign on the serious health and education issues connected with autism and Asperger's Syndrome. Cathedrals, Churches and religious organisations are praying for over 60 million people with autism around the world.

Uh...yeah. No thank you. I don't need anyone "praying for me", especially not to cure AS. I'm not suffering.

Especially since they keep on emphasizing "parents and caregivers". They don't actually mention any self-advocates.

I'm kind of thinking of the Race family right now, I wonder if their church is "praying" for the boy they kicked out?

I agree with you entirely. Especially I resent the implication of Autism Sunday that we are the problem - they should stop praying and sort out society instead.

Never heard of autism sunday, I guess that it will be just like any other sunday for me.

Diagnosed under the DSM5 rules with autism spectrum disorder, under DSM4 psychologist said would have been AS (299.80) but I suspect that I am somewhere between 299.80 and 299.00 (Autism) under DSM4.

I'll be saying a prayer of thanks for all of our supporters who are doing so much to improve the quality of our lives.

Tony Attwood is going to be speaking at a FAAS convention. His expertise on asperger's has convinced him that heterosexual male aspies have things way too easy, and that aspies don't get blamed often enough when something goes wrong.

Simple Simon's supposed to show up too. He's going to tell the feminists and their faithful flunkies in the "mental health" profession that they need to develop more respect and esteem for guys with extreme male brains. That should help a lot.

Things are getting better all the time.
