this is a ridiculous assumption. there's nothing attractive about a man stupid enough to get caught.

Is getting caught necessarily stupid? I wouldn't think so, law enforcements vs a regular person, unless the criminal is well trained professional in the field to be able to fool them by getting rid of anything that could lead to evidence and possibly frame someone else, then that would be considered stupid if said criminal fails to do so but I don't think must are, in fact, breaking the law is stupid enough, heck, even if no law is broken, many people do stupid things anyway, just for acting out of rage or similar emotion without thinking of the unpleasent consecuences that could rise by doing so, that would be stupid enough.

And then, of course, there's Madoff, who was clever enough to fool extremely clever people for many years to their ultimate tragedy and he still seems to be residing at home upholstered in millions and there's no doubt about him being a criminal.

And why not? as twoshots said, the law is imperfect and many prisoners may be actually wrongly convicted.

well, of course there might be some who can get away with a crime, and sometimes it may be out of luck, but getting caught doesn't actually mean they were stupid, as most people are likely to get caught anyway, the stupid thing would be comitting the crime, if they actually comitted a crime, and becoming a suspect, trial and conviction are different things, wouldn't make more sense to say the lawyer to be the one who is brilliant in such case, plus economic resources?

In the case of Madoff, I don't know much about that, but he doesn't seem to be entirely free, home confined? anyway "the no doubt about him being a criminal" is something that it is a matter of opinion, and there could be some doubt to it, as with similar things regarding public figures such as OJ Simpson and Michael Jackson, people often make their own opinions based on what they hear or read in the media, but they are just opinions and nothing else, therefore questionable, and I will use Fnord's quote, regarding claims and accusations against someone: Evidence, Please?

This is one of many sites on the matter. http://www.millionbabyboomers.com/baby_ ... ntury.html

To doubt his guilt is, frankly, beyond my comprehension.

At one time the alpha male served the human race in a way that brought us to the top of the food chain. I think if we (females) continue to select for this for breeding purposes, we will ultimately spawn evil offspring. I've said this so many times here, so if I sound redundant move past this now so I don't bore you.

There needs to be a cultural change in what we view as attractive in males. Attraction has more to do with cultural standards than individual ones. It's very hard to recognize unless you look at us humans as if you were an anthropologist watching apes. We don't recognize many subconscious desires because they are sort of instinctive. Humans are so conscious and aware of the immediate reality. If you search deeper, it's so absurd though because the truth comes out and shows us for what we really are.

I somewhat agree with this. Good idea.

No, because the Bad Boy is so popular with the ladies.

And therefor the basis for most crime is sex. Freud would love that theory.

There is a strong link for the majority of people inprisoned have been abused as children - That is a statistical fact. That is why they have so many counselling and drug abuse programs are in prison. Along with psychologists, doctors and psychiatrists. The reason that men populate the prisons 3 times or more than women - Is because men are culturally taught to act tough, not express thier feelings etc
Women develop psychological disturbances and personality disorders. The main personality disorder men develop is antisocial.
Anitsocial behaviour link criminality.
