what does it mean when it says your a "veteran" below your username?
Because I've just noticed mine says that

Err, I think you get that when you have a postcount that totals or exceeds 500. That's my guess anyway.

500 is the post count for attaining the rank of "vetran". 500 more and you can chose your own title.

As Merle has said, your rank changes to Veteran when you've made 500 posts. When you reach 1,000 posts, you can make your own custom rank by clicking My Account, then clicking Edit Profile, then clicking Custom Rank: Edit Custom Rank.

Actually... I have to point out that the 500-999 "Rank" is "Phoenix".

The "some other text that comes underneath the user's activity(?) graphic, either/both of which can be set by Alex" seems to change to "Veteran" at the same time.
