^Do you believe in anything?

I'm still waiting for your response on the Bet Your Life thread, ruveyn.

Of course I do. I will repeat it for your benefit. I bet (believe) that something exists. Anyone who is not dead believes in his/her own existence. I think therefore I am etc etc.

You're avoiding ruveyn's very pointed question. He's interested in how you evaluate your information which is a very crucial matter.

I had my own psychic experiences and that is why I believe it's real. It intrigued me enough to start reading about it. If I were to tell you my own experiences, my psychic ability tells me that you won't believe me. So, that is why I pointed out some books that shows some evidence that it is real. I can't prove my own experiences to you but it's good enough proof for me.

And ruveyn, you lost the bet because you were supposed to pick something that cannot be proven in this world. I was hoping you'd get a little more philosophical and say that scientists can't actually prove you exist. Had you gone that route, you may have been able to save your life and bag some treasures.

I had a few cases of déjà vu, where it seemed like i had seen this before =.= Might be related to dreams and unsciousness though.

I am empirical down to the subatomic level. I do not accept or propose anything unless

1. It is based on observable fact
2. It is logically derivable from agreed upon premises.

In short, my two pillars of understanding the world is physics and mathematics.

I have no use or patience with supernatural crap doodle for which not an iota of evidence exists. If you want to believe in gods, ghosts, goblins, spirits or faeries go to it. They are not for me.

Well, the US government will sink money into the darndest things. And the results of the STARGATE program were inconclusive at best, and the methodology sounds pretty bad.

I still await to see what's in Area 51 (that place which is being closely hidden by the government? ;p )

twoshots, have you thoroughly researched remote viewing and STARGATE? I mean, have you read one book on it by the participants or have you practiced it yourself?

Not yet. The kinds of experiments used for remote viewing sound a little iffy. Because of the extraordinariness of the claims involved in psi, etc., there should be some indicator that the relevant experiments were held to the highest of standards.
