Hiya, I wasn't sure where this should go so I figured the haven might be an idea.
If anyone knows of a more appropiate forum, please point me in the right direction.
Anyway, I'm about to start work on a 'parallell history' type story.
Basicially, it's about CAN getting their way and having 'cured' Albert Einstein and various other greats who are/were supposed to be on the spectrum and what the world would be like today if that had happened.
So:
Where can I find out about CAN without giving them money as I'm a minor?
Where can I find out about the greats that may have been on the spectrum?
Can I get any examples of what life is like for you - so it's not just my take?
Is there anything enough like this out there that that it could be considred infringement?
Once it's finished what do you reccomend I do with it?
If you give examples, can I quote you and do you wish to be given credit? (I'll use your usernames)
Is there any other information you could supply?
Thanks, iammeandnooneelse

Hi Iammeandnooneelse,

I read your story but I do not completly understand it. What is CAN? Could you specify your questions. Than maybe I can understand what you are trying to ask.

CAN stands for Cure Autism now as someone has pointed out.
They are a 'curbie' orgaization who wish to make us NT (Neurotypical). They are under the (IMHO) mistaken impression that Asperger's/ ASDs are diseases and as such, must have a cure which they are dedicated to finding. I , for one, wish to show the world that even if it was possible, doesn't necessarily mean it should be done.
NO microsoft or pokemon or knowledge about gravity.
See, that's all from greats that have a high probability of being on the spectrum.

Thanks, now I understand. I had never heard of such an organisation. So they are a bunch of NT's who found a way to waste their time and ask stupid questions. There is nothing new about that. That reminds me of Christians who try to cure homosexuality for their own stupid reasons. What a sick, sad organisation this CAN is. Thankfully most NT's are actually normal.
I would not let them bother you so much Iammeandnooneelse, are you sure they are worth to spend your time and energy on? Maybe it hurts your feelings, as it does mine, but it is obvious they will not find that cure. It is obvious because we are not 'sick' but have a handicap. We life in a rainbow and they want us to be beige, why bother with them?

The unfortunate thing is that there are offhshoots of CAN. There is DAN(Defeat) and FAN(Fight). I am not a fan of either Dan or can.

I like writing my stories.
May as well find something useful as not.

rainbow to beige.

That's kind of my plot.

Those that probably lived in a rainbow - well CAN/FAN/DAN/ something ending in 'AN' changing them to beige.
