This has nothing to do with AS/Autism........but had to share.

My son is in the excellence class for mathematics at school. He is 15........I have AS, he doesn't, and life for us both has been difficult while he was growing up.

So, he has overcome and is focusing better this year and he gets good marks without even trying.......so I said "Babe, no more talking in class, and you will be getting A's!! !!"

He is on the path to Mechanical Engineering........so, so proud......not of the marks, but of his personal achievement. Great for his self-esteem

Yes, I doubt I will look too cool if he and I are at Uni together! Hopefully I will be able to go back to my physics degree next year and my son has decided to avoid running into me altogether by doing his degree through the Air Force. He wants to do Mechanical Engineering in ordinance(not sure what that entails......think it has something to with structural fitting of missile silos to fighter planes from memory......could be wrong!). We shall see......

So now he can't call me a nerd as much....... It is good......we kind of teach each other.

We are so pleased.......
