How do you handle group work in school?

Ooooo, good point. I do the same thing. Fortunately, the people I usually talk to are used to my way of explaining things and they don't get offended.

I have, however, been ordered in the past to "stop talking to me like I'm an idiot," even though I didn't think I was talking down to them. That also doesn't go over so great in group work, either.

yeah, this sounds really way to familiar for me.

a few things happen with me in group work:

1.) i do everything and they put their names on it.
2.) we divide the project into distinctly separate parts (only works with highly trusted partners). i give up my work and they put it together. i give up on caring about my grade in this instance.
3.) nobody ever wants to work with me, but nor do i really want to work with any of them either. so it's a mutual-disaffection i suppose. i think they can see how much i don't want to work with them. i also kinda hang out until the groups are formed, then i join the least-offensive group.
4.) for big projects, i ask to work alone. teachers are usually cool with this.
