Hi my names Tina, diagnosed with Aspergers last October and just in the process of coming to terms with it.

I live with my two boys who are on the spectrum and have a partner, who is wonderful. However, he is NT and we have our problems coping with me being aspie and being generally alittle diffrent. How does anyone else cope in the same situation??

Hi Cteena and welcome! :)

I'm in the same boat. I have an NT partner. The best thing I can think of is education. Right now I'm in the process of learning this myself and my different quirks and stuff. It's going to take some understanding on both of your parts. It definitely is not easy from an Aspie perspective and I can definitely see it is not easy on the NT perspective either.

We are trying to communicate with each other a lot better. Unfortunately, that is the sticking point. So, you guys will have to learn how to communicate. I don't know exactly what the issues or problems are as it was pretty generalized. There really is not much you can do until you fully accept it. I've finally accepted it myself. Now, I can figure out what is what and hopefully grow some.

Right now, it's touch and go and a lot of dancing around until we can figure out what is really setting me off and why. Hopefully, you both can be patient with it.
