Hey, just wondering. Is there a bunch of new moderators at the moment, or have I just been blind for the past few months? I've noticed people like Tinky and LapPet with 'moderator' under the title and I never noticed that before (I thought the people on the 'contact the moderators' list were the only mods).

Is there an updated moderator list anywhere, or are these people 'under cover'? :)

There are active moderators, there are former moderators, and there have been other types as well. LabPet is not currently a moderator; tinky has been taking a more active role. For issues, please see the following:

Lau
Quatermass
Makuranososhi
DW_a_mom
Tinky

...or...

Alex

Does that help?

It's ok, I was just curious; I'm not out to cause trouble.

It does seem a little odd to me that some of the mods are hidden, but hey, it's not my site and it doesn't bother me that much. Thanks for explaining the different types.

i originally was a bit taken a back when given the moderator role and am now coming full circle to my moderator duties. also, a while back i was very busy with school. i popped back in here months ago. i am still busy with school but can now juggle the two more easily. after my school semester ends i will be on here even more frequently.

also, why do people insist on capitalizing my username? it sounds so...proper....gah...

Sorry, it's just habit; I was always taught to capitilise pronouns in school. Most people would get offended if I used lower case.

Wasn't trying to, tinky, as I know you don't capitalize it; part of the autotext on this device, I'm afraid... sorry.

Some of those "hidden" mods were either legacy, or their schedules do/did not permit them the opportunity to commit in the manner they felt necessary to take on such a role. For any and all problems, the six listed are your best bet, plus Kassiane for chatop issues.

Has lapPet been demodded?

LabPet is in post-grad work right now and chose to keep her focus there at this time, which I find quite commendable and something I respect. I do miss her insights.

Lene, I know it's confusing but another factor is that the moderator labels under the screen name are not updated regularly. Right now only Alex has the tools to update the labels and doing so apparently hasn't been a priority.

The list in the first thread on this forum will always be the most up to date with respect to who is currently active.

That's ok; I understand it's not a big issue, and nowhere near top priority. It's just something I've been curious about for a while and thought I'd ask. :)

No, different smartphone; would prefer the iPhone since I use Apple but lack adequate service in my area (plus the qwerty helps with my hands).
