Hi Sunn(42) here and sober 15 years(ok,there was a couple of one nighters where I had to prove I could do it and not return permentantly....Always have to do things my way...)I dont go to meetings any more but I couldnt have gotten sober with out them....problem is the longer I stayed sober the less social I became...I lost what little ability I had to be around people with out freaking out(on the inside...I am sure I always maintain my ultra cool exterior...lol)Any way, welcome to sobriety and hang on....its bound to be a bumpy ride(and worth every pothole)...Every year does get easier and better!!!I do miss the social parts occassionally but everything else has more then made up for it.

Congrats on the 15 years, amazing! Yea, i think anything is better than oin back that way. I also have decreased my socialability, I attend meetings regularly and they are definately a chore, especially the hand contact business. I get creeped out when I've got to touch people and sometimes need to wash my hands immediately.

But I'll keep oin back one day at a time. It's a matter of balancing the social with the sobriety.
