I don't know what switch was flipped in my 6 year old son, but holy cow, I hope it stays on. He's been helping his little brother in and out of his car seat, asked us to take his training wheels off of his bike and voila, rode the bike like nobody's business, JUMPED from the edge of the pool and swam under water, and crawled up beside his grandma on the sofa last night and cuddled up to her and stroked her arm. This child has NEVER kissed me, said he loved me, etc., yet chose to get close to another human being and was affectionate towards her. I am so thrilled for him - he has had so many victories in the past two weeks and you can see his confidence grow daily. My heart is close to exploding because I'm so happy that he is happy. You all know how wonderful and amazing these small moments in our childrens' lives are for us that parents of NT children assume are just par for the course as their children grow up. I just wanted to share in case you're having a bad day and need to see some light at the end of the tunnel. 2 months ago I was considering medication for my son, which was cause for tears and much internal debate. I am glad I chose to hold off - he has bloomed so much this summer.
thanks for listening.
Denise
