I hate concept maps

Ok, so I'm doing this concept map thing and I hate IT. I feel like there are too many connections for everything to fit in the piece of paper he wants us to do it on. It looks like a bunch lines crossing over each other between blobs. Its the "no right or wrong answer" BS. Ok, so this is kind of a rant, but its something I could definitely use some advice on. Its funny because supposedly these are good for visual/spatial thinkers to express themselves, but that is a load of BS. I am one and it just makes things more difficult because I feel like I already know everything and this is a complete waste of time.

So I ask, any advice if I come across one of these again?

I hate anything that doesn't require logic or math.

I thought I was the only one! We did concept maps in this class I took over the summer and it's really difficult to draw all the lines because so much stuff is interconnected. I can explain the concepts verbally but I was never that great at drawing...I can learn from a concept map (visual/spatial) but drawing it all out can be difficult. (I think it's a perfectionism thing.)

What I figured out is to draw several smaller concept maps isolating the related terms and then drawing the larger map from that. I was always running out of room which was frustrating and made the picture very confused. I started with the smaller connections (bottom up) instead of the broader connections (top down) so I knew how much room I would need. Took longer but my teacher was accommodating.
