Moderator Hours/Schedules?

It occurs to me that I quite often see members confused about which mod to send their issues to when they don't want to post them openly, and that perhaps a schedule of who tends to be on when might be helpful. It wouldn't have to be iron clad or anything, just a simple "I'm most likely to be active on these days at these hours" sort of thing for the different mods would probably do just fine. Any thoughts?

If members are that desperate for help, they can send the same PM to more than one mod here or to all of them.

How would you propose to solve the time translation problem? Quatermass is in Australia, Tallyman in France.

And, um, what if it turns out there are times of day no mods are on regularly? Would we want to broadcast that?

Not to say I don't see the value in the suggestion.

It's actually been some of my correspondence with Tally that gave me the idea, he's going to bed when I'm headed for work and it's hard to keep straight when he's likely to be active. Perhaps if everyone went off the GMT that the site seems to be set at some of the TZ difference could be resolved without resorting to charts and such. I really just thought of it as a simple ease of use thing that wouldn't take much effort and might help some people when they're having issues with the site, I think we may be over-thinking it here...

I am most readily available 9PM to 3AM (GMT -5) on most days.

As a rough guideline I'm available between 10 AM to 10 PM GMT on most days.

I think it would be more useful for moderators to state what forums they are most interested in like DW-a-mom used to do in parents discussion, or as several people (including Dox-47) suggested for PPR about selecting a responsible moderator from the PPR "regulars" (if one could be found) who would focus on that forum.

If something needs rapid attention (such as someone posting porn), the “moderator attention” thread would be your best bet; otherwise it would be best to select the moderator who would be most interested.

As for time zones; if you know where the moderator is, this site will tell you his local time.

I am located in Louisiana. During the weekdays I am normally on at 12-3pm. I'm also on Mon, Tues., and Thurs. at night in addition to 12-3 pm.

Friday-Sun...I may be on but normally not after 4 pm.
