*Shivers.* It happens tomorrow.

Same here, when I was four I was held down and given a lot of shots by this old hag with these UGLY purple hands. It's almost like instinct now, I have to be on serious tranquilizers (pills, of course) to even have blood drawn, and the talk of needles...*Shivers.*

Yes, they're going to gas me on top of a numbing cream and not letting me see the IV..

I had a wisdom tooth pulled at S.F General
Dentistry Dept. They used a needle, and
he dug around. It's sounded and felt like
a echo as he dug and pulled. In 10 minutes
it was pulled and looked horrible. I was
given a cotton swab to clinch on until a
bloodclot formed and I couldn't do much in
chewing so I ate soups so not to disturb
the bloodclot. The scar eventually covered
itself, and it looked like a loopsided arrow.

This is described the process I went through.

I mentioned this in another thread where you talked about your teeth being removed, Kitsune, but good luck with that. I had eight teeth surgically removed two years ago, four of them being my wisdom teeth. I hope everything goes fine.

I was super scared when I had my wisdom teeth taken out - until they gassed me - I am VERY sensitive to medications and drugs and so it didn't take much - and he let me watch TV while he was doing it and I got annoyed when he got in the way of the TV at one point - I also found the sensation of having something jammed between my teeth and wiggled until one fell out very interesting in this state . . .
I never had to take anything more than tylenol for the after pain - though I think I did take a couple of the hydrocodene just 'cause it was fun . . .

Now, I did have an abcessed tooth one time - and that was VERY bad - but the wisdom tooth thing was pretty ok . . .

I hope it went well for you . . . I hate the thought of letting other people touch me, much less pull things out of me - but the actual procedure wasn't so bad as the build up for me . . .

Dang, I can't believe you are that worried about the dentist. I've had a few fillings before and only used antesthetic twice.

Sean, there's a big difference in pain levels between getting a filling and having teeth pulled.

Hope all went well today, Kitsune.

Fillings are nothing when compared to foot long needles being jammed into your gums. I experienced no after pain though. :D
