I think it would be a good idea to have a forum for Financial Matters and Money Management.

but surely you could just post in one of the "coping in life" subsections?

I think a sub-forum in the Coping in Life section dealing with all aspects of household economics would be appropriate.
That would be the place to talk about personal finances and all sorts of domestic issues such as cooking, gardening and doing simple repairs.
What does money represent but our time and effort. Investing a small amount of time and effort can save a lot of money or investing a small
amount of money can save a lot of time and effort. Balance is the key.

I think it would be a good idea, especially for people who weren't taught these skills or might need a bit more coaching due to executive functioning issues or things of that nature. However, I think when talking about finances, there should be rules like, "Do not post specific information about accounts." just things like that to protect people's privacy, as it's a rather sensitive topic.

I agree. How to handle money and finance is a good idea for a topic area. The topics in the forum omit quite a few daily occupations (how to rent/lease and apartment and how to deal with the super(intendent)/owner, practical housekeeping, laundry, cleaning tips and tricks, shopping for groceries, etc.

I used to tease the Owner that you could tell it was topiced by a young man at school, that there were no practical 'on your own' real life discussion areas. That was when the 'in depth adult discussion' section came into being, so there is hope.
