Hi my name is johnny and i have had a pretty miserable life. I look back on it and know that I am very different than everyone else and finally realize why. I was born as a faternal twin, my twin having autism. So i can see where it is highly likely and almost undeniable that i have AS. I was told that i may have this in the past and I tried to blow it off like i cant have it. But after recent events and reading more about it on my own I have realized that I have many of the symptoms. I was reading about my shyness as I had sadly found out from someone that the girl I was dating did not like spending time with me because of How i never opened up or knew what to do.

"it's kind of hard to be around Johnny. He doesn't talk at all when we get high and he's still nervous as f**k around people. It's hard to stand. I sing publically, loudly, with no music playing. I don't understand the coy shy bull. I understand it's legit. I just wish I could break him of this behavior.
It's not my place though, so I'll stay out of it. "

And yes I have done many things in my life that i am not proud of. I have smoked weed, popped pills, cut my wrists, gotten extremely drunk. I have always been anxious around everyone I have no social skills and am constantly depressed.

But now it feels like I have finally figured out why I am so different. I hope i can learn more and feel better.

I'm sorry to hear of your misfortunes. Your girlfriend is not suited for you. A truly good girlfriend will understand your AS.

Interesting. Just curious, but how severe is your fraternal twin's autism? Can he speak at all? Does he have any savant-like abilities?

Well, I guess that goes to show that none of that stuff will really make you 'cool.' At least I'd thought about trying some of that stuff...

My brother is severely autistic and cannot talk at all. He lacks any real form of communication, but does understand everything that is spoken to him. I recall in the past having very strange connections with him where i looked in his eyes and it was like he knew what I was feeling. I used to talk to him about things that bothered me, since he is a really good listener.

I used to know someone who was severely autistic. He could talk, but usually preferred not to, and when he did, it was always either "yes", "no", or "hexagon Bailey".

Is talking to him about your feelings therapeutic?

hey johnny..welcome from a fellow noobie..

i can really relate to your story.. on taking drugs and alcohol to cope with your problems and on how you said it was hard to connect with that girl..ive been in the same place..
but from what I understand, it is just something that our type needs to develop and learn over time.. we don't naturally communicate readily, but anything can be learned.. that's pretty cool what you said about feeling your brothers thoughts when looking in his eyes. I hope you find happiness and content. take care
