I'd say that those characterizations are not entirely accurate, you miss out on the majority of the anarchist movement which tends to the left-wing and believes in the complete dissolution of a state, as well, you also miss out on the existence of statist right wingers. The right tends to believe in capitalism, core moral values and nationalism, while the left tends to distrust capitalism(either seeking to regulate it or remove it), believe in freely chosen values, and internationalism. This description is imperfect, however, I think that it better describes the left and the right.

Think about it. That's where we come from, that's where we'll end up. What have we got to lose?

(Many apologies to Eric Idle for swiping and altering his song lyrics.)

that is a common misconception. anarchy simply means a state of living without rulers. chaos is not necessarily implicit in this.

Anarchism really isn't a serious force. Point taken on the statist right, though.

maybe not right now, but it has been at various times over the last 150 years or so.

This is the internet, where far out beliefs are more common. We should not ignore an entire ideology in such a manner, especially considering that a large number of people on these boards voted anarchist!

Was Hitler a leftist? He wanted a bigger state.

The right/left dichotomy makes it very difficult to pin certain people down precisely. That's why I prefer a political compass. Hitler and Stalin would be authoritarian right and left (respectively).

Yes, he was. Fascism doesn't mean you automatically have to be right-wing.

Which political belief do you believe in?
There are no neat categories, but in general.

I am an anti-abortion, anti-death penalty libertarian. I am anti-Iraq war, and anti-war-on-terror, seeing it as an excuse to strip us of our civil rights and to get free oil. However, I think having economic liberties is good and government should limit businesses as little as possible (now concerning big corporations I am uncertain).

are there people who are pro abortion, like the more the better

are there people who are pro death penalty, like hang people for littering

are there people for wars, like yeah lets start some more and kill off millions

the war on terror comment is baffling, like you are in favor of doing nothing and letting them have at us

government regulations and businesses ?? like let McDonalds serve whatever they can make sort of look like meat to you and Joe Truck driver do whatever yanks his crank, hell with drug testing, size & weight limits or restrictions on the hours they can drive, Hey cool look at that guy got 6 trailers hooked together all over loaded and he can use meth and make it cross country nonstop.

can I pave your driveway, I'll put down a 1/2 inch of pavement while you are at work and tell you not to drive on it for a week and go cash your check and be long gone before you drive on it and break it up the first trip over it

would you like to work for me, I would love free labor I can exploit for a week and than tell to screw off I ain't paying you on friday.

who needs pesky government regulations

you have overdosed on silly TV :?: so called news garbage an are lost in another world for sure.

I would class myself as a Nationalist most of all.
Shame i can't vote for that.
From what i've heard in America right-wingers are mostly conservatives.
But when i hear and read about theyr beliefs i quickly see they have nothing in common with my own beliefs.
George bush seems like a maniac that's only set on filling his own pockets by conquering oil-rich countrys and handing his buddies all the labour contracts.

In my own country i would defenetly vote for Geert Wilders.
Hes a guy who wants to stop mass muslim immigration to my country.
At the moment he has to travel with 7 bodyguards though because muslim terrorists who immigrated here want to assasinate him for critisizing islam.
He also had to change adress every few days to keep hidden.
Other goverment officials don't have the guts to critisize it, and just pour money into the muslim ghettos in order to fix the situation.
Ofcourse this hasn't been effective that's for sure.

Maybe, but I tend to think away from politics when I think of anarchy. It's my general philosophy, though I try to be careful with it.

In theory only. As soon as you enter human beings into the equation, anarchy causes chaos
