Hi there everyone. I am new here. I have a ten year old with asperger's. I am having a few minor issues and would love some advice. My son attends a school for autistics only. This is his second year. He is with the same teacher he had last year. This school caters to all types of autistics and I am concerned he is picking up a new bad habit. He has started to repeat words under his breath when he is speaking. How can I nip this in the bud?
Also, my son is giving the teacher a hard time this year. He feels that she is singling him out, when in reality I believe that she is trying to get him to put in the effort needed to get him to whre he should be academically. He is at third grade level, and should be at fifth. He wants to be in fifth but doesn't want to work hard to get there. How can I help him see that effort is the key and help him feel motivated?
