Lol! I was just reacting to the exchange you were having with Erisad, in which the notion of people seeking power being the very people who shouldn't have it seemed to be unknown to you. That's all. I'm not interested in a lengthy debate about the sayings of Plato, although it would seem to me that the fact that they remain frequently quoted and known, even by those who know nothing of Plato, implies that they are still relevant. No matter. *shrug*

Have you any plans to give us a demonstration of the qualities you have which would make you a good choice for moderator?

Not really. Are you hard up for entertainment?
Is the rest of the gang over here? Is Quickduck or Amy around the corner somewhere? Perhaps Lucy? We should all really get together. It would be like old times. Can you make a few calls?
That would be entertainment :)

I'm here anyway, so I thought I'd have a look at your election campaign, but it doesn't really seem to be happening.

Never been much of a one for gangs myself, unlike some.

Since you were a mod on AFF, I would recommend you here as one.

But alex already picked his mods. Maybe I can still recommend you for the future reference if you wouldn't mind being one here.

Yeah I heard some rumour about Autism Sopeaks being involved here and let's say being a mod here is probably conflicting with those values. As it appears that the rumours were in fact very true.

As for the friends thing? Don't stress about that. You have an endearing personality that is loyal and just. Good things and good people must surely be drawn to you.

Now, honestly, I would love to have Marcia as a mod here. But, given she told me that she stopped modding at AFF because it took too much time, I've assumed it wouldn't be fair to ask her. She did her duty for the AS community by taking it on for a time over there. In my mind, someone else should take a turn. Hence, I never put forth her name (for what that would or would not be worth).

Not sure what that has to do with the Autism Speaks people rossc started to throw out, however.

technically, not always true. for instance i don't want to be a moderator, and frankly i would suck at the job. i know this deeply, through and through. i would favour some people and be extra-hard on others. i would lock down tons of threads at the mildest hint of misogyny, misandry, racism or religious nastiness. i would get involved in flame wars. i would obsessandlosesleepandspendtoomuchtimereadingEVERYGODDARNTHREADANDWRONGPLANETWOULDBECOMEMYWORLD.

so your theory, while good in errrrrrrrr, theory, may have a small flaw. but i have definitely liked the mods i have seen in my short time here on the site, so you may be onto something.

With our new association with Autism Speaks (The group that makes their own special videos like that hit "I am Autism" and likens Autism to Cancer) I think bringing them on board in a more hands on way could only be a good thing for this board and really bind Autism Speaks to us in more than just a funding Wrongplanet kind of way. Share the love I say. Show them we appreciate them for more than their cash.
