I've brought this up before, but it went by the wayside probably because I didn't elaborate on why I thought it would be a useful feature. Recently, another member said that he wished he could make more of a connection with people on the forums. I feel like an option to view the threads a user has created would make this a somewhat easier process (I'm probably about to do a poor job of articulating this, so hopefully someone will come along who can explain it better). It would clearly show what someone's interests were, what their concerns were, their background, etc. Yes, there is a place in the profile to list interests, but a thread about it is going to have a lot more detail and give a lot more opportunity to find common ground with someone.

Seeing as how WrongPlanet is a support site and how this feature would make it easier for people to make connections and find support, I think this feature should be implemented.

Click on their user name to get to their profile then click on "find all posts by" just under their post count.

I'm aware of that option; I'm suggesting that this be an option listed alongside that one to see what threads the user actually created themselves. It can be difficult to sort through all the posts, especially if someone posts in the off the wall forum like I do. While seeing what posts a user has made can provide insight, I feel like what they've felt compelled to share without prompting by another post would be more insightful.

I think that's a fairly neat idea. Perhaps it can be implemented when the new software update happens.

Any idea when that will be? (and thanks for the endorsement)

I'd like some more input on this; I really do feel it would help the community.

No idea, nope. If we hear anything, let you know.

I'm not sure how well it enables stalking, Hale, you can already find people's posts anyway. If it was a bone fide personal security concern, then I imagine it won't be implemented.

 see what Alex says

I know of at least one member profile that gives me this message:
Quote:
No topics or posts met your search criteria

p.s. I am NOT a stalker  but is the feature switched off for some members ?

The feature doesn't work if the member has a hyphen in their name :(

Thank you Midlife.....I will sleep better knowing that is the reason.
Pity as I like a good conspiracy theory.
